Dear Parents & Guardians,

This letter is to inform you that, the Victorian Government has announced renewed restrictions for the entire state in an attempt to control the outbreak of COVID-19 linked to the quarantine hotel at Melbourne Airport.

This announcement includes serious measures affecting all schools.

AIA Melbourne campuses will be closed on Monday 15th February, Tuesday 16th February and Wednesday 17th February inclusive.

On-site learning will be available for vulnerable children, and the children of permitted workers, if both parents / guardians cannot work from home.

Please email Ms. Faten Ayche on (ac@aia.vic.edu.au) before Sunday 14th February to book them in.

  • All students will complete independent work on Monday.
  • Prep students are to complete the prep pack sent home.
  • Prep-1 students will continue with independent  work throughout   the lockdown period
  • Years 2-5 students will commence live online Zoom sessions on both Tuesday and Wednesday following their timetable.

We expect to reopen on Thursday 18th February all dependent on the announcements from the Premier, Mr. Andrews.

We will also receive more specific information from the Department of Education and Training, and we will share this with you as soon as we receive it.

Please continue to check your Compass Parent Portal for updates.

Today’s news is not what parents would want to hear at this stage and it is equally disappointing and frustrating for the school and teaching staff.

Once again, we will keep you informed of new developments.
