AIA King Khalid Primary Campus
We strongly believe that the prime function of schooling is to provide the opportunity for students to achieve socially, emotionally and academically and to prepare them for a rapidly changing world.
To succeed at this we have introduced the Primary Years Program (PYP) of the IBO (International Baccalaureate). This is a Transdisciplinary inquiry based curriculum which is relevant, engaging and challenging for learners Prep - Year 5. The driving force behind the PYP is a deeply held philosophy about the nature and future of international education. This is developed through the student profile which encompasses the aims of the curriculum. The curriculum develops essential skills, concepts and attitudes and provides the opportunity for meaningful action. Through the PYP curriculum, we meet the standards set by VELS (Victorian Essential Learning Standards) developed by the Department of Education.
Individual learning styles of students are assessed to enable effective teaching and learning to take place. Teachers armed with this knowledge are able to plan for a variety of students' needs when introducing new work.
Through our academic programmes, our students learn to:
- evaluate their own work
- develop systems to assist their learning progress
- strengthen relationships between each other and the teacher
- take responsibility for their learning.
